Désiré Dian holds a Law Degree from the University of London (‘09 ). He was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2012 after the successful completion of the Bar Professional Training Course at Northumbria University. Prior to the Bar course, he did his mini-pupillage at the Chambers. Désiré was called to the Mauritian Bar in 2013 and he has since been instructed in cases involving property law, employment law and family law. He also appears before the District court and Intermediate in criminal cases.
Désiré is also known for his civic engagement in Sainte Croix, more particularly in education. In 2016, he became a Mandela Washington Fellow. He undertook a training in Public Management at Virginia Commonwealth University (VA, USA). The Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders is an initiative of President Obama. Désiré is a member of the Inner temple. He is also a certified Zend Php engineer. He enjoys computer programming and reading.
